As mentioned in the title - I use it for everything active AND when I'm just hanging around the house. I have a number of bottles now, some in my golf bag now because most of the people I'll tee it up with request to use it so much that I just give it to them. I played sports from childhood to college and have tried a bunch of salves, ointments, treatments, etc. This is one of the most effective options I've used.

I've been using it on my finger and not only is the pain less but also the swelling of the joints is less. But that's not the best part. I have horrible plantar fasciitis and before I got out of bed I rolled it on both feet. Within 5 minutes, THE PAIN IS GONE!! Not better, GONE!! I wish I had tried this sooner! Literally a life changer!
